Dorothy Carter – Pastoral Care Lead

Dorothy worked in the Warrington Borough Council Finance Department before a move to the Charitable Sector where she was a projects manager and then CEO at Age Concern in Warrington.

She has a great deal of experience of working with service users and carers and, during her time with Age Concern, trained as a counsellor. She also gained the diploma in British Sign Language.

She has been a member of Changes Plus since its conception and has been extremely active thoroughly enjoying the involvement with all the universities’ staffs and students. Having been a carer for many years, she feels that many types of Service User and Carer involvement should always be part of the curriculum in the many aspects of Health and Social Care training and development.

Dorothy gives an insight into her role supporting Changes Plus –

James

James is a valuable new member of the Changes Plus Ltd team. We have the confidence that he has the skills and abilities to help us focus on future involvement both regionally and nationally.

James spent the first ten years of his working life as a member of HM Forces – Army Branch. Following brief spells in the retail and automotive business he settled in at Heathrow Airport, where he remained for twenty nine years, fulfilling a variety of roles within training and middle management before settling into Operational Project Management. He was proud to have spent five years working on the operational process development for the Terminal 2 project. Upon ‘retirement’, since 2022 he now found himself working for Changes Plus, – the highlight of which, so far, has been participating in the Paramedic Games at Liverpool John Moores University for the past two years.
